Emily-Chevaun Toskin models here. This photoshoot was my first time playing with the light painting technique, and I learned a lot. Waving a light over the subject can be interesting for the ways you can focus more light on something in the image and less on other things. It's also maybe a decent workaround for photographers shooting at night who don't have large professional lighting equipment (like me), though things like motion blur can still be a problem, or benefit, depending on what you're after. (I do personally like motion blur, depending...) Of course, waving the light at the camera has more dramatic effects, and this is probably more often what people think of when they hear the term light painting. I did a bit of both here, particularly the pictures of light beams looping over Emily's head, or the laser-pointer mustache and goatee.
