Don Bergland · 1982-03-09T00:00:00Z
In March, 1982, Don Bergland was accepted as a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA). He was living in Nanaimo, BC at the time and teaching elementary school in Lantzville, a community just North of Nanaimo. While teaching in the public school system, he was also working on developing and promoting his art career through exhibitions, workshops, presentations, and offering a variety of painting courses through the district arts councils and the Nanaimo Art Forum. His entry into the FCA provided further opportunities for him, and he maintained his membership until the early 1990s, when he started exploring digital painting. This medium of artistic expression was not accepted by the FCA and he abandoned his membership.
