On the back of the card at the bottom handwritten ink: Dr August Wissowa geboren den 5.Mai 1797 zu Breslau, Schüler der Matthias-Pfarrschule,/seit 1809 des Evangelischen Gymnasiums, siedelt 1811 mit dresem in die Gebäude des Kreuzherrenstiftes über,/wird im August 1816 mit Zeugnis No I als Abiturentlassen, study in Breslau haert ächli, Griech. Deutschen, habiblitiert sich 1828 auch als Privatdozent. Ostern 1830 wird er [??] Direktor des Gymnasiums in Loebschütz, Ostern 1839 Direktor des Matthiasgymnasiums,/als welcher 28. Febr. 1868 gestorben ist.Seine Grabstätte fand er dem alten Matthias-Kirchhofe/an der Klosterstrasse.
