For the pedestal of the occasion of his 300. Heideloff produced numerous designs for the Dürer memorial planned for death. The ideal design implemented by Rosée shows the statue of the Nuremberg master on a multi-zone base. The simple base zone is followed by a level dedicated to Dürer’s students. The central Das nis-medallion of Hans Burgkmair (1473-1531) is flanked by the names Erhard Schön (1491-1542), Hans von Kulmbach (1480-1522), Hans Leonhard Schäufelein (1480-1540) and Jakob Binck (1500-1569). Above the namesake, the artists are depicted as figurines. Its center is the Allegory of Pictura, which has among others Dürer’s coat of arms at her feet. Rosée’s ideal design is one of the rare excerpts from the slab, which was introduced at the laying of the monument on 7 April 1828 (cf. Mende 1971, Cat. No. 10).
