Shawl

A shawl made of woven cotton. The cloth is geïkat and consists of two halves, sewn together in the warp direction. The two strips are symmetrical over the length. Along each of the narrow ends a mainly reddish brown strip across the width with angular ikat patterns in natural. In between the large midfield in dark blue, but heavily decorated with motifs in red and natural, mainly diamond-like figures. This blue midfield is bordered along its longitudinal sides by two fairly wide bands of predominantly red and natural, separated by a again predominantly blue band with diamond-shaped figures in red and natural. The red fringes at both ends are knotted together to form a net.
