High altar with stained glass

High altar of the Archcathedral in Gdańsk-Oliwa. The authors of this architectural and sculptural work are Andreas Schluter and probably Tylman von Gameren and Bartel Ranisch. In the years 1688-1693, a monumental structure was created, integrated into the polygonal closure of the chancel, consisting of two parts. The base is a colonnade supporting the entablature breaking off in the middle. In the central field there is a painting by Andrzej Stech, depicting the Mother of God and St. Bernard of Clairvaux surrounded by angels and below praying Cistercians. Above the entablature, partially in the vault, there is an elaborate glory showing the Holy Trinity surrounded by figures from the Old and New Testaments. In its center there is a stained glass window depicting the Holy Trinity, a work made according to a design by Zofia Baudouin de Courtenay in place of the one destroyed in 1945.
