Window 11 - painting 6 - Mary in a Protective MantleStained glass windows in the church of St. Franciszek Ksawery in Kanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo district, designed and installed in 1995 by Teresa Reklewska together with Paweł Przyrowski. The stained glass windows in the aisles present an allegorical interpretation of the Creed. Each window consists of six or eight separate images from the New and Old Testaments. The three upper windows above the gallery are slightly different from the others. They are dedicated to the martyrdom of Christians in Japan. The persecution, which lasted 300 years, was extremely cruel and violent. The people depicted in the windows are just some of the thousands killed in those times. They were tortured, burned alive or crucified. The stained glass windows were commissioned by the parish priest - Fujio Antonio Izumi.
