Each window consists of six or eight separate images from the New and Old Testaments. The three upper windows above the gallery are slightly different from the others. They are dedicated to the martyrdom of Christians in Japan. The persecution, which lasted 300 years, was extremely cruel and violent. The people depicted in the windows are just some of the thousands killed in those times. They were tortured, burned alive or crucified.The stained glass windows were commissioned by the parish priest - Fujio Antonio Izumi.
