William Davis (left), Negro handyman, is being sought in a 9-state alarm for questioning in the attack-slaying of Mrs. Penny Pettit Evans, 30, estranged wife of socially prominent Montgomery Evans, 2nd. Mrs. Evans was found slain in her home (view of house photo at right) on Woodside Avenue, Westport, Conn., where she was living with her son, Montgomery Evans, 3rd. The child was found by police in his nursery, whimpering. The murder was discovered when the handyman's wife, Dolly, 26, a domestic, telephoned police and said "My husband has just killed a woman."
