At right, the magazine -- now a semiweekly -- is shown as it will appear on Oct. 19, the last issue. Gardnes Cowles, founder of the magazine, announced Thursday that the publication would suspend operations with the Oct. 19 issue due to losses of about $10 million over the past two years, and mounting mailing costs.
