Southern Christian Leadership Conference President Ralph Abernathy tells reporters 5/20 that he has asked President Nixon to supply federal protection to help avoid bloodshed on the protest march from Perry to Atlanta. The SCLC leader invited Black Panthers, Black Muslims and Negroes of all political persuasion to join his group for the rally in Atlanta 5/23.
