Tanomura Chikuden (Japanese, 1777–1835) · early 1800s
Tanomura Chikuden was a prolific writer; among the most popular of his works was <em>Sanchūjin Jōzetsu</em> <em>(Chatter of a Mountain Dweller)</em>, which featured his critiques of painters based on his own hundred rules of painting.
