Who'll be fairest at the fair?

These 11 winsome and talented girls will vie for the Miss Essex Count title in elimination contests during the Topsfield Fair, starting Saturday thru Sept. 7. Seated, left to right- Debra Biever, Salem; Gail Picone, Salem; Doris Gray, Swampscott; Mona Limatainen, Peabody; Diane Ventresca, Peabody. Standing- Susan Longo, North Andover; Donna Snyder, Lynn; Phyllis Belastock, Swampscott; Margaret Jones, Middleton; Wendy Frederickson, Danvers; Cheryl Dawes, Topsfield. The new queen, to be crowned Saturday night Sept. 7, and will receive a scholarship award. Saturday is a special receive scholarship award. Saturday is special preview opening of Fair. It officially begins Sunday.
