This is the entrance to the lodge at Starved Rock State Park, nine miles, west of Ottawa, Ill., where three slain women were last seen alive. Bodies of Mrs. Frances Murphy, 47; Mrs. Mildred Lindquist, 50, and Mrs. Lillian Oetting, 50, were found in a cave in St. Louis Canyon. They had been beaten to death. The women were residents of Riverside, Ill., a Chicago suburb. In this picture, taken in 1957, Nicholas Spirros, operator of the lodge is standing at the entrance.
