Washing Georgia Gold (1). In neither Alaska nor California but in Georgia, a half mile outside Dahlonega, was this picture made shown washing gold from a dam-controlled stream is William (Bill) Jenkins, 46-year-old World War Veteran, who operates on the Crown Mountain Mine Property. Jenkins gives the owner 10 per cent of the gross and acts as caretaker of the property. In No.2 (21148) is shown how mercury is "burned off" the gold.
