What's so Funny? More satisfactory situations can be thought of in which to enjoy a cigar... but the adaptable smoker happens to be demonstrating successfully a new patent safety chair to be used by the Imperial Airways flying boats. The "seat-with-life-belt" device has been designed after 18 months of research by the Imperial Airways and is now being constructed for their boats. The apparatus consists of special cushions, built on the float-on-air principle, which form the upholstery of the passenger seats and which can be transformed quickly into a life-belt. It weighs only five pounds and can support weight up to 280 pounds in the water.
