What's Four Grand? Lou Gehrig (left), the Yankees' first sacker, visited the boss, Col. Jacob Ruppert, in New York Feb. 8, to talk about his 1938 salary. They shook hands, as shown, but there was a difference of opinion which totaled $4,000. Lou wanted $40,000 for 1938; Ruppert offered to pay $36,000.
