Woman scientist honored for "miracle" machine

Dr. Ruth B. Drown, of Hollywood, Calif., shown with one of the instruments that won her the certificate of merit of New York Museum of Science and Industry. Using this machine and a drop of dried blood from a patient, Dr. Drown claims that she can intercept the energy from the patient's body -- even if that person is half way around the world -- and diagnose the patient's ailment. The blood, which is introduced into the machine on a blotter, acts as a crystal for tuning, just as radio and radar waves are tuned through the air, to the body of the patient and back to the machine which produces x-ray photographs.
