Woman of the Week is Busy Combines Business, Family, Community Work Today's Woman of the Week could convince any "Doubting Thomas" that it's possible to head a business, raise a family and participate in community activities. She is Mrs. Dorothy Adams Abbe of Squantum. Her Grandfather Started Business Mrs. Abbe's grandfather was the founder of Adams and Swett Rug Cleaners. Her Mother later ran the business and now this dynamic housewife golds the reins. "Many of my employees remember when I was a baby," says Mrs. Abbe. "When I finished school I started working in the office. I guess I've done just about every office job we have." Mrs. Abbe spends part of the day at the office. "But when I'm at home I'm on the phone constantly," she says. "I hope that my 18-year-old son will take an interest in our family business, but he's free to choose for himself," says Mrs. Abbe. She also has an 11-year-old daughter. Her list of outside interests is long enough to keep the ordinary person busy full time. Active in Many Groups "I shouldn't say how many I belong to." she says.
