Woman delegate

Pittsburgh, Dec. 10--Patty Hawkins is the only woman among 1,500 delegates attending the United Mine Workers convention now under way in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hawkins, 26, works at a UMW medical clinic in West Virginia and says she's attending as the representative of a union local, not as a woman. But she was the only delegate to draw cheers and whistles the first time she addressed the chair.
