Mrs. Laura Belle Devlin, 72, who is being held on open charges in connection with the slaying of her husband, Thomas Devlin, 74, whose hacked body was discovered Sunday, after he had been stabbed, beaten and an attempt made to dissect the body and burn it two weeks ago. Professing a dislike for jails, Mrs. Devlin protested vehemently when officials tried to fingerprint her and again when a photographer tried to take her picture. She kept repeating, "Can I go home now?" Newark detective chief Hupp said he expected she would be sent to the Lima State Hospital for observation.
