In the middle of the composition, Venus is seen almost from the front. She sits on a hillock and her right arm is raised. Her forearm is folded so that her hand disappears behind her head. With her other hand, she slightly pulls the drapery that covers her knees. On the lower left, sitting near her, is the child Cupid, completely naked. He plays with his bow. The background landscape is filled with trees and a twilit sky.
