With Mud-Caked Boots The Rev. Ralph Abernathy, head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and leader of the Poor People's Campaign, displayed mud-caked boots as he testified today before a Senate subcommittee holding a hearing on employment, manpower and poverty. Before testifying, Abernathy had been at Resurrection City which is covered with ankle-deep mud after two days of rain.
