Slide Perils Hillside Homes--A fresh deluge in waterlogged southern California caused this landslide next to the home (upper left) of Paul Franklin in Pacific Palisades and threatened the destruction of his swimming pool. The earth slid across the coast highway and blocked it to traffic. All highways in and out of Los Angeles county were reported impassable today.
