Slayers get death penalty

Lawton, Okla. -- James Spence, 29, Kinston, N. C., left, sits with eyes cast down, and tough Eddie Oxendine, 26, Pembroke, N. C., lights up a cigaret moments after an all-male jury convicted them of murder and recommended the death penalty here late today. They were found guilty of shooting to death Mrs. Ruth Zimmerman, 19, while she sat bound and gagged in a closet during a March 31 armed robbery near here.
