Slain, raped

Linda Pierson,18, of Dayton, across the Ohio river from Cincinnati, whose body was found near the river last night, had been strangled and raped, according to Campbell County, Ky., officials. Coroner Fred Stine said Miss Pierson had been garroted with a ligature of unknown description. Cincinnati police still uncertain about five strangulation-rape cases involving older women within the past year. Campbell County Commonwealth Attorney Frank Benton said authorities do not know if the slaying is related to the Cincinnati slayings.
