Pretty Shirley O'Neill, 19, center, is all smiles after being advised today she had been awarded a Carnegie silver medal for saving Albert C. Kogler, 19, San Francisco State College classmate from an attacking shark while they were swimming off a beach here last May 7. Kogler died later from wounds inflicted by the shark. Shirley is surrounded by youngsters of a Catholic Youth Organization for whom she is counselor at a summer school.
