Episode of the legend of "Bonhomme Misère." The thief has climbed up a ladder into a tree laden with fruit, and hung his basket on a branch; the "Bonhomme Misère," waving his crutch summons him in the presence of two witnessess; monogram "A.L." in the lower right corner. There were only 20 impressions in all, in 6 states.
