Sketched on a visit to his old home, Columbus, Ohio. (Bellows) / A fond memory of childhood, the scene in Columbus was probably sketched on one of Bellows' infrequent visits to see his family. The artist's vantage point was a porch across from 16 East Gay Street. The address is not that of the actual family home, which was 265 Rich Street. (Mason)
