Catharine Colon, 40, of Detroit, poses proudly on her motorcycle in Los Angeles as she tells how she founded a motorcycle club for women in the Michigan city. She's on a cross-county tour, recruiting members. The club, with 40 members, is called Uppity Women. Members' ages range from 12 to 56. They don't ride in packs, and try to avoid characteristics of male cycle clubs.
