UPI newsmap spots coastal communities of Anchorage--half destroyed -- and Valdez, Homer and Seward, which were heavily damaged by tremendous earthquake which hit here late 3/27. Alaska Gov. William A. Egan said nearly 300 persons may have been killed in the disaster, which was caused inestimable damage. The tremors sent tidal waves thousands of miles to cities on the U.S. West Coast, Hawaii and Japan. President Johnson has been asked to declare Alaska a disaster area.
