The Railroad Station. The Union Station was completed in 1927. More than one hundred and thirty passenger trains pass through it daily on three main railroads -- the Boston and Albany, the New York, New Haven & Hartford, and the Boston & Maine. They afford frequent passenger and mail service in all directions East and West. There are 106 mail trains a day handling over five thousand sacks of mail and parcel post.
