Finley’s ‘Pennant Porch’--Wooden posts and a tape line mark the shape of a V-shaped wooden right field fence that is being erected by the Kansas City Athletics at Municipal Stadium to make the boundaries conform as closely as rules permit to New York’s Yankee Stadium. Erection of the stadium started today and on hand was Cal Hubbard, American League supervisor of umpires, was on hand to see that the fence was legal. The nearest wooden stake, shown here, is 296 feet from the plate, but in fair territory, just two feet from the right field foul line.
