Survivors of Turkish Earthquake Look for Trapped Victims-Survivors of a violent earthquake that struck western Turkey seek victims trapped beneath rubble in Gediz Sunday. The quake, which struck just before midnight Saturday, virtually wiped out the town of Gediz, 150 miles south of Istanbul and flattened villages for miles around. At least 300 deaths were reported in Gediz near center of the tremor, and officials feared that the over-all till could reach 1,000.
