Trinity Church, New York City. Located on one of the most valuable sites of the city in the heart of the financial district, it was dedicated in 1697, enlarged in 1737 and destroyed by fire in 1776. A second church, which replaced, was dedicated in the presence of George Washington. Many prominent Americans, Alexander Hamilton, and Robert Fulton among them are buried here.
