Tyrannosaurus Cretaceous Period The largest flesh-eater known to man, the20-foot-tall tyrannosaurus, or the "Tyrant Lizard," chewed with dozens of razor-sharp, six-inch teeth. Reigning supreme among other animals in his day (100 million years ago) this land-dweller lived in Montana. It is thought that his front paws were used as grappling hooks and his hind legs for a "pile-driver" action.
