Stepfather charged with attempted murder

Tucson, Ariz.--Charles Leonard Hughes arrives at Pima County Sheriff's office with Detective Richard Smith. Hughes has been charged with attempting to murder his stepdaughter Sherri Lynn Hoffman. Pima County Atty. maintains Hughes deliberately drove his car through a store window in an effort to kill the girl and collect $30,000 in life insurance.
