Tyler Abell, 36, husband of White House Social Secretary Bess Abell, was appointed Chief of Protocol 9/25 by President Johnson. Abell succeeds Angier Biddle Duke who was recently appointed ambassador to Denmark. The appointment is the first time the top social positions of the White House have been shared by a husband and wife team.
