This is the story of Tom Sharkey, former heavyweight title contender whose battles with Jim Jeffries made history just before the turn of the century. Sharkey is shown here at the Laguna Honda Home in San Francisco, where he is recuperating from a foot infection. "I made and lost over $250,000," he said. "But I've had a lot of fun, and more than all, I've made a lot of friends." That's why he's virtually a charity case.
