This Call Aroused Alston--A call of safe by Umpire Lee Weyer as the Pittsburgh Pirates' Manny Mota slid into second (top) on his eight-inning double brought an outburst by the usually mild-mannered Manager Walter Alston of the Dodgers and got him thrown out (below) by Weyer, at Los Angeles last night. The Dodgers contended the throw from right field caught Mota long before he reached the base. Los Angeles won the game, 5-4.
