Bobby Jones, the grand slam golfer, and Paul Runyan, a fair golfer himself, photographed during the first day’s play of the $5,000 Masters’ invitation tournament at Augusta, GA., March 22. They played together, but neither did much good, Jones coming in with a 76, four over par, and Runyan just two strokes better. Jones’ putter gave him trouble. Horton Smith, Emmet French, and Jimmy Hines led the field with 70’s.
