These are the opinions of Dr. Nathan W. Ackerman, clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Ackerman also director of the Family Mental Health Clinic of the Jewish Family Service. The clinic, which is five years old, is restricted to 50 families at any one time. It is a research and demonstration facility staffed by large number of psychiatrists, psychologists and psychiatric social workers.
