Trapped in Ice Floe. - Crew members from two of the stranded fishing tugs peer anxiously into the sky as the U.S. coastguard helicopter nears. The boats were trapped in an ice floe off Port Maitland, in Lake Erie early Saturday morning, without food or fuel. The helicopter dropped food and fuel to them yesterday. Four other boats managed to batter their way back to Port last night. The fishing boat, "Irene Lloyd", can be seen in the extreme background.
