"Thank the good Lord"

Michael Chervenak clasps his hands today as his mother puts an arm around him while holding her other child, Janet, 3, at a coroner's inquest. A jury had just absolved 10-year-old Mickey of any blame in the fatal shooting of his 31-year-old father, Michael E. Chervenak, last Friday night. The boy testified his father had beaten both he and his mother before the slaying. As he was freed, the boy clapped his hands and said "Thank the good Lord."
