Tragedy strikes

Eileen Fahey, who was shot to death by an unknown assailant as she sat at her desk in the Pupin Physics Laboratory Building of Columbia University this morning, is shown with her fiance, Ronald Leo, now a Marine PFC in Korea. This photo was taken when Miss Fahey was graduated from St. Alphonsus High School and the couple were attending the graduation prom. Miss Fahey, 18, met death only a few minutes after she arrived at her office, waving three unopened letters from her fiance. Her assailant fired four shots into her and walked away unmolested. Five years ago, her brother, Frank, was killed in a street fight.
