Two boys look under a section of buckles concrete in downtown Sylmar, Calif., about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. The pavement buckled as a result of shifting earth during the massive earthquake that hit the Southern California area early 2/9. At least 28 persons were known to have died as a result of the quake, which is the largest to hit the area in many years.
