Standing nude bending forward

Bellows, George, 1882-1925 · 1916

This sketch, probably the first of the twenty single female nudes that Bellows produced during his nine years of lithography, may have been put on the stone for the purpose of experimenting with the technical aspects of lithography. It is doubtful that it was intended to be a finished work or to be editioned, and it is not listed in Bellows' record book. (Mason)
