[ca. September 1966]
The Jack Thompson family of Salem, father, mother, and 16 children, were honored at the Topsfield Fair Tuesday as Essex County's largest family. The Thompsons were feted at a special luncheon and the family received a $500 check from the Essex Agricultural Society, sponsors of Topsfield Fair, as a climax to the exposition's observance of Family Day. Mr. Thompson, a shoe worker, and his family are natives of Maine and have made their home in Salem seven years.
