St. Louis- Nurses give hearty goodbye to St. Louis baseball Cardinals' Mike Shannon (R) when he checked out of Jewish Hospital, 4/16. Shannon regular third baseman for the Cardinals failed to start the season, and was in the hospital 3 1/2 weeks for nephrites, a kidney ailment. It was first thought Shannon might not play this year, but team doctor Stan London said Shannon may be ready to play by midseason.
