St. Louis, Mo.: An earthquake shook much of the central and eastern U.S. and parts of Southern Canada 11/9. The quake apparently centered 120 miles east of St. Louis, Mo., in Illinois near the Indiana line. Tremors occurred at 11:02 A.M., CST, in St. Louis and were felt for 20 seconds at 11:03 A.M. in Chicago. Shaded area on this UPI newsmap shows the areas in which tremors were reported.
